This group of markets predicts which team will win the NBA championship for the 2026-27 season, along with Western Conference champion markets. Markets exist for each NBA team and additional placeholder teams (Team A-E) to cover all possible outcomes.

All platforms use the same core resolution logic based on official NBA results with consistent handling of cancellations, eliminations, and tie-breaking proceduresPrimary resolution logic: Official NBA announcement, with credible reporting as secondary source

Core resolution logic:

  • Market resolves to Yes only if the listed team is officially declared NBA Finals champion (for championship markets) or Western Conference champion (for conference markets)
  • Market resolves to No if the team is eliminated from playoff contention before the Finals/Conference Finals
  • Market resolves to Other if the season is canceled, postponed past June 30 2027, or no champion is officially declared by that deadline
  • For championship markets with Team A-E placeholders: Any team not explicitly listed resolves through the placeholder markets
  • If multiple teams are declared champions (extremely rare), the market resolves in favor of the team whose name comes first alphabetically

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Multiple Champions: If multiple teams are officially declared champions (e.g., due to a tie), the market resolves for the team whose name comes first alphabetically
  • Season Cancellation: All markets resolve to Other if the NBA season is canceled or no champion is declared by June 30, 2027
  • Team Renaming: Teams that change names during the season will resolve according to their name at the time of the championship determination

Polymarket

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team is determined as the champion of the NBA for the 2026-27 season. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to be named as the champion of NBA for the 2026-27 season per the rules of NBA (e.g., participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the NBA: however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Kalshi

Each market resolves to Yes if the corresponding team wins the Pro Basketball Western Conference Finals in the 2026-27 season. The Western Conference Finals determine which team from the Western Conference advances to the championship series. Only one team can win the conference finals, so only one of these markets will resolve affirmatively while all others resolve to No.

Predict

This market will resolve according to the team that wins the Western Conference Finals for the 2027 NBA Playoffs. If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed team to win the 2027 Western Conference Finals per the rules of NBA (e.g., they are eliminated in the playoffs), the corresponding market will resolve to “No”. If the 2027 NBA season is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source will be official information from NBA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
