This event tracks Texas's crude oil extraction levels over an entire year, reflecting how effectively the state's oil fields can meet production benchmarks. It uses a standardized government dataset to ensure consistency and reliability in measuring output against set thresholds.
All markets resolve based on the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) annual-average field production of crude oil for Texas in calendar year 2026. The EIA reports production in thousand barrels per day, which will be converted to million barrels per day by dividing by 1,000. Regardless of market-specific thresholds (5.6, 5.7, 5.8, or 5.9 million barrels/day), resolution exclusively uses EIA data. The EIA explicitly notes that its Texas production estimates may differ from those published by the Railroad Commission of Texas; therefore, only EIA figures will determine market outcomes. A market resolves to Yes if the reported annual-average production exceeds its respective threshold, and No otherwise.
